The First Day

DAY OF PROCEDURE: Right after the treatment, the area is red and swollen. This is normal for a few days. You may also experience some pain and tenderness. Your tattooed area may produce yellowish/ clear fluid which is a lymphatic liquid (plasma) this is totally normal as your skin is trying to heal itself. See next step to clean it correctly but gently.

Healing Process

PERMANENT MAKEUP:

Day of procedure: Wipe your treated area after with a cold lightly damp sterile cloth.

• Day 2-until all scabs naturally shed: Lightly blot the area with sterile water or witch hazel. Brows should remain completely dry otherwise.

• The second stage of healing (3-5 days) usually brings the onset of itching. The scabs will start to flake off. The skin around the brow will become a bit dry. Avoid peeling or picking the skin.

• The third stage is the final healing of the area (3-10 days). Most of the scabs have fallen off, and you may notice that the pigment no longer looks as vibrant as it did when it was first finished. The skin that is healing will appear to be cloudy, the hair strokes that were created will be hidden behind this cloudy skin. As the skin heals the hair strokes will show through and true pigment will appear.

• By the 14th day if all the scabs have not come off yet, then apply a small amount of Aquaphor then wipe off on other side of q-tip so there’s only a small amount of residue.

MEDICAL TATTOOS & TINY TATTOOS:

AFTER 24 HOURS / AFTERCARE: Remove bandage(s) approximately 24 hours after the procedure. You can shower with the bandage on. Wash your hands, then gently but thoroughly wash your tattoo(s) with mild soap and water using your hands. Do not scrub as you can ruin the results. If you get the area wet, blot it dry with sterile gauze. When you take a shower, make it short and try to avoid getting your tattooed area from getting wet as much as possible, and dry them as soon as possible. Don’t point the shower head towards them!

• WASHING / OINTMENT: Wash the area twice a day for 5 days. Rinse the area and blot dry with a clean towel. If possible, air dry until the tattoo feels slightly tight. After washing the area, apply a thin coat of Aquaphor 2-3x per day for 5 days. Apply Aquaphor ointment in a thin coat rubbing completely into the tattoo. If there is excess ointment, remove it gently with a clean paper towel. Tattoos and skin should feel slightly moistened, not heavily coated. Continue washing and ointment application until the area begins to lightly flake and peel, usually in 5 to 7 days.

Special Attention

PERMANENT MAKEUP:

When the area is fully healed and scabs fall off completely, keep area protected with an OIL FREE SPF of 30 or greater moisturizer.

• NO water, makeup or any other products on treated area for 7-10 days.

• No sauna or steam room for 7-10 days.

• Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure.

• Avoid heavy sweating for the first 7 days.

• NO facials, Botox, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

• Avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days.

MEDICAL TATTOOS & TINY TATTOOS:

• DO NOT PICK: Do not pick the scabs, let them fall off on their own. Ripping them out can take patches of pigment off and end up with patchy results or even an infection.

• THINGS TO AVOID: No soap, no shower gel, no shampoo, or cosmetics no nothing on the pigmentation site for the first 5 days. Avoid the following for at least 2 weeks: sunlight exposure, tanning beds, saltwater, or swimming pools, jaccuzzis, saunas, steam baths, excessive sweating.

• Once the skin begins to peel, you can discontinue Aquaphor, and apply an unscented hand lotion such as Lubriderm.
